What brings two young men all the way from Duluth, Minnesota to Leamington? Well, their bicycles, a thirst for knowledge and a love of adventure.
Last week Zach Chase, 25, and Kris McNeal rode into town, marking the completion of about one-third of their 5,300-mile ‘Big Water Bike Tour’ around the great lakes and the St. Lawrence Seaway.
The trip, which began May 1 and is expected to wrap up on Aug. 5, will take the duo through eight states, two countries and through more than 20 major cities.
In just two days in the Essex County area, they had learned that agriculture was key, greenhouses were plentiful and the wine industry was unbelievable.
