Jake Boyce is a guide and co-owner at Day Tripper of Duluth
After nearly three decades (not there yet) of exploring Northern Minnesota, Jake knows just about every rock and root in the area.
The Duluth native was practically paddling the lakes of the Boundary Waters before he could walk. He grew up racing for a local high school ski team and later went to race for the nordic ski and bike team for Saint Olaf. There, he earned German and business management degrees but realized that the his office needed to be outside. He’s had multiple coaching jobs ranging from rowing to cross country skiing. He worked as a bike and ski mechanic at Ski Hut. He is a paramedic in the Duluth area and now is sharing his passion for outdoor adventure AND education with Day Tripper of Duluth.
Throughout his training, he had the opportunity to participate in many races including: the Nature Valley Grand Prix, Heck of the North (first place), American Birkiebiner 54km Classic (second place), and Noquemanon 50km Classic (fifth place). He is also a USA Cycling Expert Mountain Biker.
Jake enjoys surfing Lake Superior, mountain biking, skiing, camping, sailing,…pretty much anything outdoors.
